this song is basically about my time in night clubs growing up. being bored with the generic dancing and having little to no chance with any girls i decided to try and impress them with some flamboyant moves. as was to be expected the moves did nothing to impress and time after time i was still dancing on my own but actually found it was more enjoyable. once i did manage to entice a girl and low and behold i've been with her ever since and even now when i go out i still dance like morrissey so as it turns out it had nothing to do with pulling girls after all, its just because its fudging good fun.

every night you pass me by a distasteful glance catches my eye, i'll comfort myself with a drink to pass the time
then something strange comes over me, is it this drink this song hormones maybe?
it's time to display hidden qualities...
sometimes i get drunk and hope you'll fall in love with me, convinced myself that i'm god's gift when i dance like morrissey
but everytime you turn your back and walk away from me, everytime you turn your back and walk away from me
now some have style and some have grace but they're not here not in this place, this dancefloor is mine
it's time for me to shine...
one night you'll get drunk and then you'll fall in love with me, but soon you'll learn it's just a ploy to boost my self esteem
i'm just as happy when i dance in my own company and everyone else can fuck off just leave this song to me
